The main goal of Social Studies is to prepare young people to become responsible citizens. A responsible citizen displays social understanding and civic efficacy.
6th Grade Goals:
In 6th grade, students will spend time exploring and learning about world geography (environments and culture and global issues that appear likely to shape our future). During each unit students will be focusing on different geographic regions of the world. We will complete one unit every marking period and each unit will include a pre and a post-test to monitor growth.

- Civic efficacy is the readiness and willingness to assume responsibilities of citizenship, knowing how, when, and where to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good in a democratic society.
